Kawaguchi • At the northern mouth of the Ainokawa rests the storied, humble town of Kawaguchi.

Eons ago, Kawaguchi was a battlefield—the crux of a war ended by a band of heroes. It was there they rose to their destiny, defeating an apocalyptic threat from another world.

With their adventure’s end, the heroes chose to stay and help rebuild a local village over the following months. But word of their victory traveled fast. Soon, Kawaguchi was receiving a steady flow of budding adventurers from across the world, coming to learn under the living legends of the river’s end.

The heroes chose to stay and teach, founding the culture Kawaguchi is known for: mentorship and training for adventurers of humble beginnings. Who knows when the world might need more heroes?

Ingredients: Roasted coffee.

If brewing by hand or using a drip machine, start with a 1:16 coffee-to-water mass ratio. If lacking a scale, use about 3 tbsp of ground coffee for every 8 fl. oz. of coffee you want to brew.

Magic Item: Cuddlecat

Wondrous Item, Rare

This soft, stuffed cat toy is woven with mind-altering magic. Cuddling with it is known to help bolster the user's memory. When you cuddle with it during a short rest, you can choose to recover a number of expended spell slots equal to your Proficiency Bonus. For example, if your Proficiency Bonus is 2, you can recover up to two levels worth of spell slots. You can recover either a 2nd-level spell slot or two 1st-level spell slots. This ability functions only once each day, and the cat regains the ability each day at dawn.

In addition, whenever you cuddle with this cat during either a short or long rest, you gain advantage to all Intelligence ability checks for the first hour after your rest ends.
